Betty Jean Guillory Baudéan, 85, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2016. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, the late Louis Henry (Tommy) Baudéan, Jr. and her parents Everett and Irene Guillory. She was the beloved mother of Tim, Mark (Carmen), Paul (Tara) and Laurie (Scott) Inman. She was deeply loved by her grandchildren Jessica, Jeffery (April), Everett (Jennifer), Logan, Tyler, Cole, Luke, Stephen, Nicholas and Jacob Baudéan and Corinne, Alice and Emily Inman as well as her great-grandchildren Giavanna, Sophia and Dillon Baudéan. She was the loving sister of Janis Guillory (Chip) del Corral and the dear aunt (Tante) of Emily del Corral (John) Highsmith and the great-aunt of Jack and Camille Highsmith. Among her many cousins, she was especially close to Lisa Gelpi who lovingly called her Nan Betty. Betty attended Mater Dolorosa Elementary School and St. Joseph High School in New Orleans. She studied at The University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. Before her marriage, she worked for The Port of New Orleans. Betty spent most of her life in Algiers where she raised a loving family and worked at D.H. Holmes, Ltd. and was a loyal employee of Fifth District Savings and Loan in Old Algiers. At the end of her journey on this earth, she was comforted by Notre Dame Hospice and the Eucharistic Ministers for the Homebound of St. Andrew the Apostle Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11am at Mothe Funeral Home, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA . Visitation at the funeral home will begin at 9am until 11AM. Interment will be at St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery 3421 Esplanade Ave. New Orleans. Donations in Betty’s memory can be made to Notre Dame Hospice 1000 Howard Ave. New Orleans, LA 70113.
