Charles “Charlie” “Chuck” Clyde Hightower passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Mary Anne Granier Hightower. Father of John Hightower (Jessica), Faith H. Cassidy (James), and Jason Hightower (Jennifer). Grandfather of Blair H. Handy (Michael), Kyle Hightower, Taylor Hightower, Tyler Bodden, Alaina Hightower, Alyssa Hightower, Chris Cassidy (Katie), Ian Cassidy, Kelsey Cassidy, Luke Hightower, Maylee Hightower, and Everett Hightower. Great-grandfather of Preston James Cassidy and Ezra Castillo. Son of the late Clyde Hightower and Polly Flores Hightower. Brother of Alton Hightower, Dan Hightower, Frank Hightower (Jill), and the late Sybil H. Roberts. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Age 84 years, a native of Robeline, and lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. He served in the United States Army from October 1955 to January 1963. Member of the Caddo Adais Indian Tribe of LA. He spent over 30 years with Western Auto, 13 years with Capitelli & Wicker Law Firm, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for 9 years. Member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He will be remembered as a devoted father and loving grandfather.
