Garrison "Gary'' J. Toups Sr. entered eternal rest on Sunday November 6, 2022. Beloved husband of Hope Melendez Toups, and the late Pamela Chiasson Toups by first marriage of 39 years. Loving father of Mandy Toups Mura (Mike), Garrison John Toups Jr. (Misty), Chance Joseph Toups (Sadie), and stepdaughter Jordan Melendez. Grandfather of Rosemary Mura, MaKayla Spatafora, Shawn Davis, Chloe Mura, and Autumn Toups.
Brother of Harold "Bozo" Toups (Joyce) and George Toups (Norma), and the late Lovincy "Paul" Toups, Brenda Toups, Julianne Toups, and Danny Toups.
Close friend of Leroy "Big Head" Schouest.
Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Mr. Toups was a lifelong resident of the City of Westwego, former 3 term Councilman for the City of Westwego, Lifetime member of Westwego Volunteer Fire Co. #1, Founder and coach of Wego AC Boxing Club, and lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church. Mr. Toups was a licensed boat captain from the age of 18, starting out as a commercial fisherman and most recently giving· tours of the bayou through Ultimate Swamp Tours.
Family, friends, and members of the above-named organizations are invited to attend the funeral Mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church on Ave. A in Westwego, La on Friday November 11, 2022, at 11am. Internment will immediately follow at Gates of Heaven Mausoleum Westwego, La. Parlors will be open at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, La on Thursday November 10, 2022, from 5-9pm.
