Glen Otis Rushton, Jr., born in Algiers, Louisiana to Glen “Russ” Rushton, Sr. and Raynel Deloris Rice Rushton on March 5, 1947, lost his battle to mesothelioma and went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2021, at 7:35 p.m.After Glen graduated from high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and became a submariner who served aboard the USS Lewis and Clark. He became a draftsman and designer following his service with the US Navy but, he always loved woodworking and rebuilding things. Glen was always a man of faith but in 2016 became involved with Journey Church in Belle Chasse, now Saints Community Church, and helped rebuild the church. He was not only part of the congregation; he was also a believer who many of the congregation came to see every Sunday.He is survived by Martha Carlson Rushton, his devoted wife of 52 years; his daughters, Barbara Pilie (Chris Pilie), in Destrehan, Louisiana; and Denise Suters (Harry Suters) in Bradenton, Florida; his granddaughter, Marley Suters; sister, Patricia Oldham; nieces Raynel Oldham Bays and Tiffiny Oldham; and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Saints Community Church, 116 J Street, Belle Chasse, Louisiana.
