Gloria L. Crappel passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2020 surrounded by family members after a 10 year battle with colon and liver cancer at the age of 76. She was the beloved wife of the late Horace “Man” Adam Crappel, Sr. for over 50 years. She is survived by her children, Horace A. Crappel, Jr. (the late Terri) and Kathy C. Lewis (Donald); grandchildren, Shanyn, Chris, Travis and Spencer and 7 great grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by 1 sister, Mary L. Gregoire (Easton) and 3 brothers, Jimmie Lodrigue (Wendy), Lawrence Lodrigue (Eva) and Anthony Lodrigue, Jr. (Evelyn) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Anthony “Frere” Lodrigue, Sr.; brothers, Henry Lodrigue and Infant Lodrigue; sisters, Florence Defelice (the late John), Bessie Welch and Effie McVay (the late Eugene). Gloria is the daughter-in-law to the late Leonise F. Crappel and Philo A. Crappel. Gloria was a faithful Catholic who never missed Mass. She also loved to attend any House of God. She and her late husband volunteered every year at St. Joseph Altar at St. Cletus Church in Gretna, LA. Gloria was proud of being raised in a French speaking home in Houma, LA. She loved to sing and dance, cook, make pralines and visit family and friends, especially neighbors in her block. A special thanks to Dr. Jimmy Ellis and Staff of West Jefferson Cancer Center and the staff of Concerned Care Home Health for their care given. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 10AM until 1:30PM.
