Marie Isabelle Forsyth Peterson

Marie Isabelle Forsyth Peterson, born on August 16, 1921, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at the age of 101 years young. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Peterson. Loving mother of Joseph Peterson, Jr. (Jeannie), Sandra Grimm (John and the late Joseph Catalanotto), and Gwendolyn Barlow (John). Grandmother of Christine Scott, Damian Peterson, Dean Peterson, Dale Peterson (Renee), Wendy Daigle (Patrick), Chris Catalanotto (Elizabeth), Paul Catalanotto (Laura), Bradley Peterson, and Gregory Peterson. Great-grandmother of Chassidy, Destiny, Brandon, Jarred, Jersey, Dale, Aryana, Tyler, Sarah, Connor, Joseph, Michael, Theodore, James, and John. Great-great-grandmother of Roux, Cadence, Avery, and Koda. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Olga Forsyth. Sister of the late Archibald Forsyth, Sr. (late Helen) and Frank Forsyth (Mary Ellen). She is also survived and fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and many cherished friends. A native of New Orleans, LA, and a Hammond, LA resident for the past eight years. She was a member of the Lions Club, Gold Dust Twirlers Square Dance Club, Latinares Dance Club, past Secretary of A.A.R.P. local chapter, Red Hatters Alter Society at St. Joseph and St. Julian Eymard, Quilting Club and Belle Oaks Garden Club in Hammond. She did ceramics for many years, crocheted, embroidered, and was an excellent seamstress. She loved visiting family and friends and traveling in the United States, Europe, Mexico, and South America. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11am at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9am until 11am. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
