Rebecca Ann Parks Broome entered into the Kingdom of Heaven December 31, 2022 at the age of 68. She was born in Westwego, LA and was a native of Lafitte, LA. Many years of her life was spent in Plaquemines Parish and for the last three decades she resided in the greater Hattiesburg area of Mississippi.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Drury (Shannon) and Bryant Drury (Dawn) as well as her grandchildren; Robin Drury Austin (Dylan), Hannah Drury, Jacob Drury, Beau Drury, Madison Drury, McKenzie Drury, Meaghan Prest (Blake), and Kassidy Fitzgerald (Adam). Her legacy is further left to a host of nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents; Vanice J. Parks and Grace Marie Matherne; her husband, Randy Broome; her sisters, Catherine Parks Dufrene and Grace Ann Parks Turner and her brother Vanice J. Parks Jr.
Rebecca Ann Parks was a loving, care-giving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her smile was contagious and her passion in life was taking care of her family first. She loved her pets, Spike and Bear, and was an avid Saints fan who never missed a Sunday game. She was a compassionate woman who is deeply loved and will be forever missed.
Her memorial service will take place at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm. Memorial services will be held at 7pm. She will be laid to rest beside her sister in Jordan Hill, LA at a private graveside ceremony.
