Samuel Beardsley Jr.

Samuel Beardsley, Jr. passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Debra Rau. Loving father of Salvador Macaluso, III, (Eva), Candace Rau George (Bill), and Ryan Macaluso. Brother of Jonathan Beardsley (Randi Decature). Uncle of Samantha Bear (Chaz) and Thomas Beardsley and 4 step nephews and a host of cousins. Grandfather of Celeste, Annamarie, Robert, Bobby, Cara, and Nathan. Step-grandfather of Bethany and Stephanie. Great grandfather of Harley, Sydney, Jinessa, Kaysen, Rylend and the late Brea. Sam graduated from Pomfrett High School, attended Case Western Reserve and obtained his BA at Tulane University and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University. He also attended Nunez Vo-Tech where he studied to become a Paramedic. He lived in W. Hartford, Connecticut and came to New Orleans in 1978. He worked for Tulane University Medical School as Clinical Research Study Coordinator prior to attending Loyola. He practiced as a criminal defense attorney since 1993 after admission to the Louisiana State Bar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Samuel Beardsley, Sr., his father and mother-in-law, Frederick D. Rau, Sr. and Beryl C. Rau, and a brother-in-law, Stephen O. Rau. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 12 noon.
