Yvonne E. “Sparrow” Avara Alimia, age 85 passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Philip A. Alimia, Sr. Daughter of the late Hollis Avara and Addie Dunaway Avara. Devoted mother of Debi G. Carnes (Tommy), Bryce W. Gatlin, Philip A. Alimia, Jr. (Nina) and Paula A. Gregory (Billy). Grandmother of Jamie, Hilary, Holly, Ashley and Philip J. She is survived also by 10 Great Grandchildren. Sister of Bill Avara, Pansy Morgan and the late Clifford Avara, Helen Avara, Herman Avara and Grace May. Yvonne is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was born in Summit, Mississippi and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, Louisiana on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana.
