Abel "A.J." Lovas

Abel “A.J.” Lovas passed away on June 10, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of 63 years to Wylene Cooper Lovas. Brother of JoAnn Willinsky (husband, Arnauld), Albert Lovas (wife, Faye) and the late Herman Joseph Lovas. Son of the late Irene Charbonnet Lovas and Abel S. Lovas.
Mr. Lovas was a resident of New Orleans and Gretna for 77 years and most recently, resided in Buena Park, California since January, 2006. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served his country during the Korean War. As a man of devout faith, he served the members of First Baptist Church of Algiers, LA as choir director for over 50 years, on the Church Board of Directors and in other administrative capacities.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 PM to 8 PM, resuming on Wednesday from 8 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Baptist Church-Algiers, 13091 Pendarvis Lane, Walker, LA 70785.
