Ada Lee Farmer Hourcade passed away on April 4, 2013 at the home of her son in Marrero, LA at the age of 93. She was born on September 11, 1919 in Meridian, Mississippi and was a resident of Harvey, LA for 69 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Ernest “Shorty” Hourcade, Sr. and her parents Shelby Lee and Philonese Daigle Farmer. She is survived by her three children, Renee Hourcade Boudreaux (Husband Leslie), John Ernest Hourcade, Jr. (Wife Linda) and Stephen Charles Hourcade (Wife Carol). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Kim B. Rodriguez, Shari B. Bourg, Rhonda B. LeBlanc, Pamela B. Donato, Leslie B. Breaux, Scott Hourcade, Robin H. LeBourgeois and Amy Hourcade. She has 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was a member of Infant Jesus of Prague Golden Agers and Widow’s Support Group. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the super caring Staff of Heart of Hospice for their love and care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, April 8 2013 from 9AM until 11AM. A recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
