Adrienne Pertuit Pierce

Adrienne (Sis) Pertuit Pierce, 91, entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2023. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Christopher Pertuit and Merian Jeanne Smith Pertuit, and sisters Gwendolyn Ann Pertuit and Carolyn Marie Pertuit.

Beloved wife of Noah Pierce Jr. for 67 years. Mother of Eileen Burregi (Carl), Suzanne Terrebonne (Keith), Diane Pierce, Darlene Aguillard, and Andrea Billiot (Bobby). Grandmother of Tara, Robyn, Kacie, Jaimy, Lauren, Jessie, Megan, Sara, Samantha, Emmi, Anna, David, Amanda, and Shane. Great-grandmother of Marley, Levi, Kyla, Braeden, Blaise, Jordan, Molly, Maggie, Jacob, Dylan, Sydney, Wilder, Dax, Beth, Luke, Desmond, Zoe, Myles, Garrett, Theodore, and expected baby girl Lewis.

Adrienne was a graduate of Gretna High and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University.  She spent her career as a school teacher at Homedale Elementary in Harvey, Gilmer Wright Elementary in Baton Rouge, Gretna No. 2 Elementary, Visitation of Our Lady School in Marrero, Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in Belle Chasse, and St. Rosalie School in Harvey. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Visitation of Our Lady Altar Society and St. Vincent de Paul Society.  She was also a Girl Scout and Brownie leader for many years.

Adrienne kept in touch with many of her former students and remembered each of them fondly.  She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was also an avid genealogist.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from 10 AM until Funeral Mass time at 12 Noon. Interment will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.  The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.mothefunerals.com.
