Albert Zatarain Daul

July 11, 1946 — September 3, 2024

Our sweet brother, Albert Zatarain Daul, passed away on September 3, 2024 at the age of 78. He was a native of Gretna, LA and a longtime resident of the Baddour Center, a residential community for adults with intellectual disabilities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael B. Daul, Jr. and Elaine Zatarain Daul and brother, Michael Patrick Daul. Albert is survived by his brother Gerald Daul (Eileen) and sister Andrea Daul Pieri; his nieces Andrea "Peachie" Pieri, Nicole Daul; his nephews Kelly Daul (Brandi), Ryan Daul (Christen), Max Pieri and Michael Patrick Daul, Jr.

Al's life at the Baddour Center allowed him to flourish and pursue his many interests. Through out the years he joined the Miracles, participated in several work opportunities, served as mayor and acted in many plays at the center. He enjoyed photography, art and pottery classes. His social calendar was always full and he particularly loved live wrestling on television.

When visiting home, Al had a special love for the City of Gretna. The highlight of a recent visit home,Al had a tour of the Gretna Police station with Chief Arthur Lawson who has always gone out of his way for Al. You could always find him wearing that special hat given to him that day. He loved riding in Grela, attending Gretna Fest, visiting casinos, live concerts ,enjoying our great seafood and spending time with family. He was especially close to his niece "Peachie". They were best friends and partners in crime.

The family would like to acknowledge Autumn Cunningham from The Baddour Center for her invaluable love and support given to Al over the years.

He will be greatly missed by those who loved him. So sad that he is gone.
