Albert J. Melanson

Albert J. Melanson passed away on November 29, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Ellay Marie Dupre Melanson. Father of Peggy Pellegrin (Kenneth) and Bobby Melanson Sr. (Ruth). Grandfather of Dana, Jace, Patrick and Bobby Jr. Great-grandfather of Kali, Karina and Calib. Brother of Douglas Melanson, the late Peter and Delores Melanson. Son of the late Samson and Ida Adams Melanson. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Albert served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He later worked as a millwright for Celotex and later retired as foreman for Gretna Machine after 26 years. He was a longtime member of the Gretna Sportsman’s Club, was an avid bowler at Westside and Expressway Lanes, loved to play golf and was a Saints football season ticket holder for years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
