Albert J. Zeringue passed away on April 27, 2013 at the age of 87 after a brief illness. He was a resident of Belle Chasse, LA for the past 13 years. Albert lived a full and blessed life and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, as well as a kind friend. Born in Bayou Goula, LA on September 26, 1925, he proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II advancing to the rank of corporal. Afterwards he went on to work in the oilfield industry being employed by SeaDrill Corp. for the majority of his career until retirement. In later years, he was active with Meals On Wheels and the Theta Golden Agers, as well as, an accomplished bowler qualifying to compete in numerous Senior Olympics for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Victoriano Zeringue, son, Gerald J. Zeringue (Brenda) of Ponchatoula, LA, and daughters, Nancy Z. Quick (Richard) of Asheville, NC, Cheryl V. Diodene (John) of Harvey, LA, Shelia V. Benoit (Darell) and Kathy V. Mouledous (Alex) of Belle Chasse, LA, along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond J. (Sr.) and Laura Rome Zeringue, first wife, Theresa Himel Zeringue, granddaughter, Corinne Quick and great-grandson, Kristian Hesler.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, LA.
