Alcide Joseph "A.J." "Brother" Hartman Jr.

Alcide J. “A.J.” “Brother” Hartman, a native of Lockport, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Geraldine “Peggy” Hartman for 61 years. Loving father of Judy H. Guidry (Tommy), Karen H. Grisaffi (Tommy), Daniel J. Hartman (Dawn) and the late Gary P. Hartman (the late Linda “Sissy”). Brother of Mae Duet and Nell Gaudet. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Predeceased by 10 siblings and parents, Alida Barbier Hartman and Alcide J. Hartman, Sr. A. J. was a retired Tugboat Operator. He was a parishioner of Holy Name of Mary Church, Algiers and a member of the Holy Name Society and the Third Order of Mary.
Relatives and friends of the family also employees of Journey Hospice are invited to the Visitation at Holy Name of Mary Church, Verret at Alix St., Algiers, LA on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 9 AM until 11 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the March of Dimes, www.marchofdimes.com or to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org .
