Alfred Stephens French

Alfred S. French, retired sales representative with B.P. Amoco Oil Company peacefully passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the age of 91. A resident of Gretna, LA since Hurricane Katrina, a former resident of Arabi, LA and Lafayette, LA. Alfred was a graduate of Redemptorist Boys and Girls High School of New Orleans and served in the U.S. Infantry Corp with the Army of Occupation in Germany in 1951 and 1952.
Brother of Charles J. French (Jo Ann) of Westport, Connecticut and the late Harold French, Jr., Robert French and Leona F. Bean. Son of the late Miriam J. and Harold French, Sr. Grandson of the late Walter and Leonie French and Charles and Mary Stephens. Also survived by countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as his extended family.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6th Street, Gretna, LA 70053 on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Visitation will start at 4:00 pm with a mass to follow at 5:00 pm.
