Allen Joseph Roussel

Allen Joseph Roussel, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at West Jefferson Medical Center.  Beloved husband of Jewel Pellegrin Roussel for 56 years.  Son of the late Clifton A. Roussel and the late Rita Mae Guidry Roussel. Father of Laurie Leaman (Dana) and April Becnel (Jeremy). Grandfather of Nathaniel and Ainsley Leaman and Juliette Becnel.  Brother of Clifton Roussel, Patricia Stroud, Annette Weisler, and the late Wayne Roussel. Allen was born in New Orleans on April 19, 1947.  He was raised in Algiers and Harvey, Louisiana.  Allen attended Holy Name of Mary and Homedale Elementary Schools and graduated from the last high school class of Holy Name of Mary in 1965.  Allen went to Nicholls State University for 1 ½ years.  He worked for Pioneer Fishing and Rental Tools, Inc. starting in high school, and later worked at Dixie Oil Tools, Inc.  He then became a Machinist for Team Machine Shop eventually becoming co-owner and President.  After Hurricane Katrina, Team Machine Shop was sold to Knight Oil Tools of Lafayette.  Allen retired in 2009. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 11:30AM until 1:30PM. A Memorial Mass will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30PM.  A Memorial Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, Louisiana.  Family invites you to share thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online at www.mothefunerals.com.
