Surrounded by his loving family in the peace and comfort of his home, Retired Lt. Allen Joseph Sanchez of the Crime Prevention Division of the PlaqueminesParish Sheriff’s Office, Retired Chief of the United States Coast Guard, Founding Father of the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office Citizens Police Academy and Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT) entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 10:37 p.m. Beloved husband of Bernadette Plaisance Sanchez. Father of Julie Angele Sanchez Morton (Chris) and Jayne Annette Sanchez. Step father of Dawn Wedge (Rob), Donald Gross (Vickie), Douglas Gross (Brittney) and Duane Gross. Son of the late Alfreda King Sanchez (Mickey) and Allen Sebastian Sanchez. Brother of Nancy Dickens (late Joe), Helen Markey (late Terry), and Bonnie Durnin (Gene). Grandfather of the late Dani Angele Graiser. Step grandfather of Blake, Amber, Kayla, Hayley, Kacie, Dorian and Lacey. Step great grandfather of Gabby. Cousin of Richie Pertuit and Karen Anderson (late John). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 64 years. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA for the past 14 years. Relatives and friends of the family also members and former members of Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office, Fraternal Order of Police, Grand Lodge of LA Albert Pike Lodge #376 F&AM, American Legion Post 329, United States Coast Guard District 8, and the United States Navy are invited to attend funeral services in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Inc., 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
