Alphonse Gabriel Cassagne, Jr. “Nu Nu” entered eternal rest on December 31, 2013 in Luling, LA. Age 82. Beloved husband of Patricia Guidry Cassagne for 57 years. Loving father of Alphonse Cassagne, III (Kerie), Craig Cassagne, Sr. (Nancy), and Susan Hymel (Merlin). Proud grandfather of Craig, Jr., Christopher, and Alphonse, IV Cassagne, and Paul, Thomas and Katherine Hymel. Son of the late Alphonse Cassagne, Sr. and Pearl Fortmayer Cassagne. Brother of the late Alphonseine Barbier, Gabriel Cassagne, Sr. and Paul Cassagne, Sr. A native of Jefferson Parish and resident of Luling for the past 2 years. Retired Jefferson Parish educator, former Marrero Middle School Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Schools. He served in the United States Coast Guard and was a lifetime member of the National PTA and LA Retired Teachers Association. His love of fishing, hunting and gardening will continue to live on through his family. Relatives, friends of the family, and Jefferson Parish School System current and former employees are invited
to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Friday, January 3, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred or donations to your favorite charity.
