Alvin Charles Bairnsfather

Alvin Charles Bairnsfather passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the age of 55. Survived by his beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 33 years, Darlene Conrad Bairnsfather; his daughter, Hannah Marie Bairnsfather Abel; his son-in-law Martin Abel as well as the entire Abel family of Victoria, Australia; his brothers-in-law, Robert Conrad, Jr., Bruce (Fawn) Conrad, Thomas (Debbie) Conrad, Anthony Boteler and Mary Walker. Brother of Anna, Darlene, Kathleen, Mary and Pattie. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Claire Koenig and Raymond Bairnsfather, Sr.; his foster father, Loren J. Brown and brothers, Raymond, Jr., George and Herbert, Sr. Alvin was a 1978 graduate of O. Perry Walker High School where he enjoyed hanging with his “sweathog friends. He enjoyed playing with his animals, Zelda, Link, Chewbacha, Darth Vador and Snoopy. He enjoyed hosting neighborhood watch parties and fundraisers for the NOPD 4th District. He was so happy to visit his daughter and family in Australia and had dreams of one day moving there. Alvin never turned down a chance to hit the casinos. He was a longtime employee of Compass Marine Dockside and Elmwood Marine Dockside in Algiers. In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 9:30AM until 11AM.
