Alvin Joseph Yokum

Alvin James Yokum passed on Friday August 24, 2012 at his home in Gretna, LA. He was 82. Brother of the late Antoine Yokum, Raymond Yokum, Charles Stuit and Ella Mae Burkart. He is survived by his nephew Kenneth Yokum and several other nieces/nephews residing out of state, and Aline Lester, FloAnna Lester, Craig Gullung Jr. Alvin retired from Central Trucklines after 30 yrs of service. Alvin was a beloved member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church congregation in Gretna, where he was awarded the St. Louis Medal earlier this year. He will be missed very much.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 Sixth Street in Gretna on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Hook and Ladder Cemetery.
