It is with great sadness to announce that our beloved Andrew Gerard Rogers, known by many as “Dreaux” passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, at the age of 53.
Andrew was born in New Orleans, LA, on November 28, 1970, to Carolyn (nee Journee) and Lige Rogers. A couple of years down the line, at just two years old, he ‘happily’ embraced the role of a big brother, welcoming his little sister, Ligette Rogers, into the family.
Upon graduating from Northshore High School in Slidell, LA, Andrew bravely answered the call to serve, enlisting in the U.S. Army. His unwavering courage and commitment were displayed during his service in the Gulf War, fulfilling his deep-seated desire to protect and serve. Following his military journey and extensive travels, Andrew returned to New Orleans to embark on the next phase of his life, where he transformed into "Dreaux."
Dreaux is a very special person in the New Orleans area and was known for being a compassionate friend, neighbor, and business partner. His knowledge and passion for culinary arts awarded him many wonderful opportunities with renowned chefs and created meaningful connections all over the world. Dreaux was also a business owner and an amazing IT professional. He greatly valued the time he spent with his loved ones and had an endlessly giving and warm heart. His love for cooking and gatherings brought many people together for timeless and unforgettable memories. His fun disposition, wit, and light-hearted personality were second to none; to know Dreaux was to love him. His impact has been felt by so many, and he will be remembered fondly for generations.
Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Lige Rogers; grandparents, Andrew and Laura Journee, William and River Lee Preston; aunts, Mildred Petite, Rachel “Juanita” Jordan, Rose Marie Hardy, 'Jo' Polk, Audrey Clivens; uncles, Melvin Clivens, Ira Polk; and cousin, Marina Preston.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Carolyn Journee; his wife, Angela (Beaman) Rogers; his children, Liam Rogers, Jasara Rogers, Gavin Fitzgerald, Jaymz Beaman, and Lindsay Bartels (Kevin); his goddaughter, Tyesia Shelton; his grandchild, Autumn Armstrong; his sister, Ligette Rogers; his aunts, Melva “Laura Ann” Shelton (Larry), Dianne Clivens, Bessie Polk, Gaynell Massey (Warren), Claudell Davis (Ellis), Mary Thomas (Joe); his uncles, William “Robert” Preston (Sandy), Richard (Jo) Polk; his cousins, Pam Curry Garrett, Roxanne Ranson (Sean), Ekeshia Curry, Kim Preston, Tobias Shelton, and Channel Clivens-Smith (James) and many more loving family, extended family, friends, and business associates.

The family deeply appreciates your ongoing support during this challenging time and kindly requests that, in lieu of sending flowers, you consider making contributions to our memorial fund and share your memories and photos.
