Angelina "Angie" Shano Bourgeois

Angelina “Angie” Shano Bourgeois, age 84 entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 12, 2013. Wife of the late Eugene “Genie” Bourgeois Sr. for 67 years who passed away just 12 days prior. The power of their love would not allow them to be apart. Daughter of the late Rosalie Angrisano Shano and William Barron Shano. Sister of the late Joe Shano, Lena Kass, Mike Shano, the late Louise Breaux, the late Salvador "Sam" Shano, the late Mary Richard, the late Buffa Shano, Charlie Shano and Paul Shano. Mother of Eugene Bourgeois, Jr. (Phyllis) Sheila Bourgeois and George Tsagournos. Grandmother of Daphne Tsagournos, Katina Tsagournos, Torri Tsagournos, (Cathy) and Eugene “E.J.” Bourgeios III. Great Grandmother of Samuel Salas, Aliyah Salas, Dakota Blakely, Angelina Blakely, Sophia Schimmeck, Tessi Tsagournos, Nikki Tsagournos, Sebastian Rachel and Sydney Rachel. She was survived by many nieces, nephews and many, many loving godchildren. Angie was born in Marrero, LA and resided in Gretna, LA. She and her husband were avid bowlers and have won many bowling tournaments together. She enjoyed working many different jobs, especially at Rip’s and as a housewife. The family wanted to thank the Terrytown Golden Agers for the many great years and wonderful friendships they shared together. The family also wanted to thank the bowling league at the Naval Air Base in Belle Chasse that hosted many years of good times. Angie and Genie were loved by everyone and will be missed dearly by all who have been touched by their warm hearts and caring souls. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
