In loving memory of Ann Palermo Bairnsfather, a kind-hearted and loving mother and grandmother, who touched the lives of all who knew her. Ann passed away peacefully in her home on April 11, 2024 surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished forever.
Ann was born on October 18, 1940 in New Orleans, LA. She dedicated many years of her life to her work at the Panama Canal Commission until her retirement. After retirement, she returned to work as the secretary for St. Martha Catholic Church in Harvey. Her dedication and countless hours of volunteer work made a lasting impact on her community and church parish. Ann's family meant everything to her and she loved them with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking meals, especially during holidays. She also enjoyed music, reading, dancing, and crossword puzzles.
Ann is survived by her husband Stanley "Sonny" J. Bairnsfather Jr., with whom she shared 58 years of marriage filled with love and companionship. She is also survived by her children: Bryan (Alice), Scott (Amy), and Chad (Blanca) Bairnsfather. Ann will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Mac (Brittney), Evan, Sydney, Andrea (Hampton), Isabella, and Juliette; as well as her great-grandchildren: Theodore "Teddy", Gracie, and Mackenzie.
Ann was the beloved daughter of the late Salvadore Palermo Sr. and the late Marguerite Saluto Palermo. She was preceded in death by her brother Ciro "Jimmy" Palermo, her brother Salvadore Palermo Jr., and her sister Josephine Palermo Damico.
A visitation in memory of Ann will take place at St Martha Catholic Church, 2555 Apollo Drive, in Harvey on April 19, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Mass at 2:00 PM. The interment ceremony will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Ave., in Gretna, LA immediately following mass.
