Anna Mae Knerr Houssiere entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Albert C. Houssiere, Jr. Daughter of the late John J. Knerr and Margaret Schroeder Knerr. Mother of Linda Chehardy-Jackson (Husband David), Geralyn H. Champagne-Funck (Husband Donald) and the late Carol Ann H. Raymond. Grandmother of Jeff and Kenneth Raymond, Kristan Raymond-Ornelaz, Scott, Jennifer, Kelly and Michelle Chehardy, Kevin and Brian Champagne. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Chateau de Notre Dame Nursing Home Staff and Chateau de Notre Dame Hospice for their love and care given to Anna Mae during her time of illness. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Visitation at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 1:15PM until 2:30PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the church on Friday at 2:30PM. Interment of cremains will be held at Hope Mausoleum, 4148 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA immediately following Mass. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, New Orleans, LA in charge of arrangements. The family requests NO FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers, Masses in memory of Anna Mae Houssiere are preferred.
