Annie Mae Damico Deris, age 91 entered eternal peace on Saturday, November 28, 2015 after many years of agonizing pain and illness surrounded by her loving family. Annie was a lifelong resident of Terrytown and Harvey, Louisiana. She was a wonderful person who always thought about others first and made everyone feel special. Her greatest joy in life was caring and cooking for family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlo J. Damico and Mary Scaccia Damico. She was wife of the late William Paul Deris and longtime companion of the late Emile “Mike” Celino. Beloved mother of Billy Stevens (Perry Wayne), Eve Gremillion (Lee) and the late Timothy Carl Deris, Sr. Mother-in-law to Portia Deris. Grandmother “MawMaw” to Dawn Deris, Tanya Stevens O’Rourke (John), Jamie Gremillion Terrebonne (Darus) and the late Timothy Carl Deris, Jr. Great Grandmother of Carl Callais, William and Victoria O’Rourke and Austin and Macie Terrebonne. Special mention to her loyal friend, Glen Celino (Emily) who was like a son to her. Sister of Rose Ann Damico Deeters, Carlo “C.J.” Damico (Beverly) and the late Salvadore “Sam” Damico, Philip Damico, Mary Damico Martin and Jennie Damico Ruiz. Beloved sister-in-law of the late Rita Deris Braud. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Annie was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary on the Westbank. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice Compassus and Riverbend Nursing Home for their care and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 10AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
