Annie Lou Lawson Steen

Annie Lou Lawson Steen, born in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 22, 1952, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 10, 2025 at the age of 72. Annie was a longtime native of Algiers and currently resided in Loranger, Louisiana. Annie is the beloved wife of the late Don Joseph Steen, Sr. She is the daughter of the late Blanchard “BL” Lawson and the late Betty Daigle Lawson. Loving mother of Donna Steen Levy (Patrick) and Don Joseph Steen, Jr. (Brett) and loving Grandmother of Patrick Levy, Jr. and Joseph Levy. Annie is survived by her 3 siblings, Anthony “Geeta” Lawson (Darlene), Irene Carle (the late John Carle) and Lynn Haas (Donnie). Annie and her late husband, Don were the retired owners of the formerly known Don’s Café, devotedly serving their Belle Chasse customers for over 25 years before his passing. Annie loved sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. She never met a stranger and truly cherished the friendships she had made over the years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Annie’s visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, Louisiana on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 11:30AM until 1:30PM. A Funeral Service for Annie will take place at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30PM. A private interment for Annie will take place at a later date.
