Anthony "Tony" Gaspar

Anthony “Tony” Gaspar, owner and operator of Pen Vent Sheet Metal Inc. of Harvey, LA for 25 years, former owner of Westside Sheet Metal and former employee of Avondale Shipyard for 13 years, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Carolyn Day Gaspar for the past 52 years. Father of Anthony W. Gaspar, Todd Gaspar, Sr. and Troy Gaspar. Father in law of Sandra Gaspar. Son of the late Salvador Gaspar and Frances Loup. Brother of Salvador Gaspar, Jr. and the late Melzar “Snake” Gaspar. Brother in law of Linda and Richard Dufrene, Lois Costa, Virginia and Rosalee Gaspar and the late Ethel Mae Walker. Grandfather of Tiffany Gaspar Galle (Daniel), Anthony Bird, Timothy, Trevor, Todd, Jr. Jonathan and Blake Gaspar. Great-grandfather of Aiden Galle and Austin Gaspar. Survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Mr. Gaspar was a 2nd class petty officer in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Walton DE 361 Destroyer from 1959-1963 was a member of American Legion Post #222, member of God’s House Westbank Cathedral Church for 38 years. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral service in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 1 PM. Visitation will be on Sunday October 23, 2011 from 6 PM until 10 PM and Monday from 8 AM until 1 PM. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
