Anthony Joseph Labruzza, Jr.

Anthony J. Labruzza, Jr., born December 27, 1925 in Gretna, LA passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Katherine Wilson Labruzza for the past 66 years. Son of the late Anthony Labruzza, Sr. and Vita DeLuca Labruzza. Father of Deborah Carbo (Gordon), Katherine Marcantel (Larry), Antoinette “Toni Lynn” Black (Bobby), Michael Labruzza (Sheri) and Lori Landry (Dennis). Grandfather of eleven grandchildren, Vincent, Jennifer, Teri, Vita, Cheryl, Kristine, Jared, Michelle, Jordan, Meagan, Collin and six great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his brother, Luke LaBruzza, Sr.; his sister, Mary St. Germain and two great granddaughters. Anthony is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is a retired grocery store owner; served in World War II, Navy CASU 49; a Life Member and Retired 1st Assistant Chief of the David Crockett Steam Fire Company No. 1; a Life Member of the Louisiana State Firemen’s Association; a member of the Westbank Presidents and Chiefs Association and a Longtime Manager of Crockett Keno Hall. The family wishes to express their gratitude to his kind personal care givers and the staff from Notre Dame Hospice. Relatives and friends, also the David Crockett Fire Company family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday evening, June 4, 2012 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 9AM until 12:30PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 Sixth Street, Gretna, LA on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Hook and Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
