Anthony Pusateri

Anthony Gerard Pusateri (Tony), age 25, born March 12, 1986, passed away of heart failure, in his sleep on April 9, 2011. Tony was born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School and a student at the University of New Orleans, majoring in Civil Engineering. Tony had an inviting smile, engaging personality and a giving heart. He was a true friend to those who knew him and never met a stranger that he would not help. Tony worked his way through college and was looking forward to graduation in the Fall. Tony once said “I have time to live my life after I graduate, and what a life it will be!” Tony was a peacemaker to all; the most loving and giving person you will ever meet. He loved his family more than anything and would do without for the happiness of his family and friends. A tremendous void will remain in the world and in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Tony leaves behind his grieving parents; Father, Mark Stephen Pusateri, Mother, Leslie Johnson Dubroc and Stepfather, Edward Kirby Dubroc. He was a stepson to Porter Allen Strain and Stephanie Ruiz. Grandparents; Shirley Howard Pusateri, Robert Wesley Johnson, Sr. and Mickey Johnson. He was an inspiration, role model and beloved big brother to Stephen Patrick Pusateri, Joseph Guy Pusateri, Wesley Timothy Strain, Raquel Allison Dubroc and Kourtnie Brown. He will forever be remembered by his Aunts Pam Pusateri Massey, Cindy Pusateri Ally, Jerri Lynn Pusateri Mcgehee, Donna Pusateri, Cindy Johnson Tizzard, Donna Johnson Carnes, Robin Johnson D’Arcangelo, Lauren Johnson Curtis, and Uncles David Anthony Pusateri and Robert Wesley Johnson, Jr. He was an amazing mentor to a large host of cousins who will miss him dearly. He was a treasured friend to many. Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Stephen Pusateri, Jr., Grandfather, John Gerard Pusateri, Grandmother, Carol Wilkinson Evans, and Uncles, Terrell Guy Pusateri and John Patrick Pusateri. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Crossroads Church, 308 Avenue J, Belle Chasse, LA. (Lions Club Building) on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm services to follow. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA.
