Arthur Becnel Jr.

Arthur Becnel, Jr. passed away on May 31, 2012 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine Smith Becnel. Father of Glenn L. Becnel (Annie). Grandfather of Trisha Becnel Caal, Yvette Marie Becnel, Margaret Ann Becnel, Noel Christina Becnel, Michael Louis Becnel and Alicia Ann Becnel. Great-grandfather of Anthony, Andrew, Brianna, Manuel, Drake and Addison. Brother of Shirley B. Navarre, Hewitt L., Robert R., Harold J., Benjamin X., Saxon R. and Thomas B. Becnel and the late Johnny J. and Carol J. Becnel. Son of the late Gladys Brandt Becnel and Arthur Becnel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Arthur was a nurseryman and was a member and past-president of the New Orleans Horticultural Society, member and past-president of the New Orleans Rose Society, member of the American Rose Society and the American Hibiscus Society.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11 AM. Interment will take place in the Becnel-Bayhi Cemetery, Laureussitte (Alliance), LA. Visitation will take place on Monday from 6 PM to 9 PM and Tuesday from 8 AM to 11 AM.
