Arthur T. Kulp

October 13, 1945 — January 20, 2015

Arthur T. Kulp passed away on January 20, 2015 at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of 48 years to Mary Louise Picone Kulp. Father of Tilford Lee Kulp II (Maxine), Andrea K. Schatz (Joseph) and Kristina Kulp. Grandfather of Andrew, William, Arthur and Tess. Brother of Felecia Short (Albert) and the late Lulla Lee Bell. Uncle of Eric, Kathleen, Chris, Sally, J Dagney, Gretchen and Margaretha. Son of the late Tilford and Katherine Lewis Kulp. Also survived by his canine companion “Chachi” along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Arthur began his professional career with Crescent Towing in 1963 as a deckhand and oiler. Over the next 20 years, he rose through the ranks to dispatcher to chief dispatcher, assistant superintendent then superintendent, union negotiator and helped to open branch offices in Mobile, AL and Savannah, GA. He retired as Senior Vice-President after 45 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the Knights of Sparta Carnival Krewe. Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project ( www.woundedwarriorproject.org ) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org ).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. Services and eulogy will follow.
