Arthur Lynn Mcneely

Arthur Lynn McNeely, Sr., age 63 years, passed away on September 27, 2012 after brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie Spiers Watson McNeely, affectionately known as “Tyde”. Father of Arthur Lynn McNeely, Jr. (Barbara) of Waxahachie, TX; John Steven McNeely of Natchez, MS and Kimberly Susanne McNeely Farmer (Chris) of Marshall, TX. Stepfather of Johnny Raymond Watson, Katherine Lynn Watson and Richard Neil Watson, Sr. Grandfather of Michael Anthony McNeely, Ashley Marie McNeely, Travis Aaron McNeely, Brooke Elise McNeely, Miranda Nicole McNeely, Amanda Bonnie Farmer, Paige Allison Farmer and Richard Neil Watson, Jr. His parents Arthur Lincoln McNeely and Mary Lillie Deville McNeely preceded him in death. Survivors include his brother Ellis Nelson McNeely (Marie), nephew Jeffery Lincoln McNeely, niece Tracy Lynne McNeely Vella, aunt Audrey Belgard and many cousins and friends. A native of Natchez, MS and a resident of Bayou Gauche for 24 years. Lynn was employed by Union Carbide Corp. in Taft, LA from 1970 to 1985 in maintenance and as a heavy equipment operator. He served our country in the National Guard beginning in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He also served as a volunteer fireman with the Luling Volunteer Fire Department and was a Search and Rescue team member for many years beginning in the 1970’s. A special thanks to his doctors at Ochsner Baptist Hopsital and to the nurses in ICU. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Monday, October 1, 2012 at 1PM. Interment will follow at Sunset Bayou Gauche Cemetery, Bayou Gauche, LA. Parlors will be open on Monday from 10:30AM until 1PM. For funeral information or directions, please call 504-366-4343.
