Audrey Beauvais Dewey Ezzo

Audrey Beauvais Dewey Ezzo passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Louis Herman “Blinky” Dewey by first marriage and of Milton Joseph Ezzo by second marriage. Mother of Cathy Dewey Wright (Bill) and Warren Joseph Dewey (Debbie).  Daughter of the late Mrytle and Alonzo Beauvais. Sister of the late Doris  Beauvais Eldred. Grandmother of Jennifer and Tessa. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Stepmother of Gwen Ezzo Bigelow and the late Rosalie Ezzo Zimmer.  Audrey is also survived by 5 step grandchildren. She was a dedicated teacher at St. Andrew the Apostle School and Alice Harte Elementary School. She was the recipient of the “Teacher of the Year” Award. She was a New Orleans Historian and Tour Guide. She was a native of Gretna and a resident of Algiers, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10am. A Memorial gathering will be held at the church from 8:30am until 10am.   Interment will be privately held at  Hook and Ladder Cemetery, Gretna, LA.   Donations in her  memory may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 610 6^th Street, Gretna, LA. or masses can be offered.  Relatives and friends of the family may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
