Audrey Joy Thorning Smith, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Emmett Raymond Smith. Mother of Noretta Smith Stackel (Husband Gordon). Grandmother of Catherine “Kayce” Stackel (Husband Jeremy Hebert) and Anne Kristine Stackel. Sister of the late George Thorning, Jr. Audrey is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. She was an active member of St. Philips Episcopal Church in Algiers. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to Notre Dame Hospice for their love and care. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 3643 Aurora Drive, Algiers, LA on Friday, February 28,2014 from 8:30AM until 10AM.
