August Lynn Schloegel Sr.

August Lynn Schloegel Sr. passed away on March 21, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Mrs. August Schloegel. Father of August Schloegel Jr. (Heidi), Jacob McDonald, Elaine McDonald, Neta McDonald and Carmen McDonald Jr. (Brittany Brondum). Grandfather of Tiffany Monique Lozier, Charles McDonald, Amber McDonald, Brandon McDonald, Devyn McDonald, Carmen “Dell” McDonald III, Baylen McDonald, Ashton Brondum and Cayden Brondum. Great-grandfather of Amani, Symphani, Gabriel, Brandon Jr., Kyliegh and Braydon. Brother of Arthur Schloegel (Shirley) and Albert Schloegel (Diana), the late Audrey Vindel and Ann Applebee. Son of the late Arthur and Anna Parr Schloegel. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
August was a high-voltage electrician for Avondale Shipyard and retired after 57 years of dedicated service. He was honored several times by the Department of Defense and others for their efficiency and expertise on ships and projects in the yard. He was talented with his hands and enjoyed working around the house on different projects. He will be sadly missed and while his passing will be sorrowful, his life and legacy will be celebrated.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
