Avery Thomas de la Cruz, an avid Commercial Fisherman was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the age of 54. Former husband of Vickie de la Cruz. Son of the late Willie and Thelma de la Cruz. Father of Tracey d. Rojas (Husband Joey) and the late Corey and Sherry de la Cruz. Grandfather of Zoey and Joey “Bubby” Rojas. Brother of Willamae Landry, Diana Jakubielski, Vallere Bryon, Angie Buras, Roger, Barry, Billy, Dennis de la Cruz and the late Blaine de la Cruz and Denise Hebert. Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. de la Cruz was a lifelong resident of Plaquemines Parish. He was a member of River of Life Ministry Church in Happy Jack. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at River of Life Ministry Church, 25640 Highway 23, Port Sulphur, LA on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 9AM until 12 Noon. Funeral Services will be at the church on Saturday at 12 Noon. He will be laid to rest in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA following funeral services.
