Barbara Ann Whitney Tomba passed away June 27, 2016. Beloved wife of Thomas C. Tomba, Sr. for 64 years. Daughter of the late Norman Whitney and Mary Alice Dubret Whitney. Mother of Thomas C. Tomba, Jr. (Jean), Bobbie T. Breaux (Lionel), Susan T. Augello (Frank), and Nicholas E. Tomba (Brigitte). Grandmother of Thomas C. Tomba, III, Daniel E. Tomba, N. Cosimo Tomba, Gabrielle Tomba. Sister of Norman W. Broadbooks (late Arthur) and Oliver Whitney (Maria "Sweetie"). Age 83 years, a native of Algiers, LA and resident of Covington, LA.
She spent her career as a Registered Nurse with Jo Ellen Smith Hospital in Algiers, West Jefferson Hospital, and Woldenburg Nursing Homes. After retirement she became Realtor for Gertrude Gardner and spent her free time shopping, traveling, and enjoying her grand-babies.
Relatives and Friends of the Family, also employees of Tomba Communications are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Parlor of Mothe Funeral Home,1300 Vallette St., Algiers, LA on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11 AM.
