Barry Carl Smith

Barry Carl Smith, 80, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2023. He was born on March 2, 1943, to the late Ora Mae Pares Smith and Lester Carl Smith. He was a loving father to Blain Smith and Barri Lyn Kammer (Daniel) and grandfather to Sydney Proze Payne (Andrew) and Holden Proze (Brittney). He was also a devoted brother to his sister, Mary Beth Fowler, and a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Barry was a skilled salesman, known for his unique ability to connect with clients and colleagues alike. He enjoyed a long and successful career before retiring. Always the center of attention, Barry’s cheerful, genuine sense of humor and easy nature made him endearing and loved by his many friends, especially his golf buddies. 

Throughout life, Barry was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, proudly displaying several of his prized trophies. Although, his favorite outdoor activity was without a doubt – golf. An avid golfer, Barry loved the challenge and camaraderie of the sport. He was happiest on the greens with his friends and in recent years enjoyed passing on his love of the game to his son and grandchildren.
Above all else, Barry cherished his family and always put his loved ones first. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, unwavering love, and of course, his good sense of humor.
A memorial reception for Barry Carl Smith will be held at Stonebridge Country Club, 1500 Stonebridge Drive, Gretna, LA 70056 on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 6:00PM.
