Bernadette Schwall Walker passed away on Friday, October 16, 2015. Beloved wife of Deacon John J. Walker IV for 34 years. Loving mother of John J. Walker V (Jen) and Kathleen H. Walker. Grandmother of John J. Walker VI, Landon Walker, and Jake Walker. Daughter of the late Edward B. Schwall and Margaret McColgan Schwall. Sister of Maria Houser (Dave), Laurie Yancovich (Eric), Patrick Schwall and the late Edward B. Schwall, Jr. (Jackie). Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Age 52 years, a native of Gretna, LA and resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Bernadette worked for the Audubon Nature Institute as a Special Events Coordinator planning parties, weddings, and lifelong memories for families. She truly loved to be around the animals. Her artistic creativity was expressed through her painting and photography. She was an avid home chef, enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spent her quiet time reading or watching cooking shows. She will be remembered for always sharing her time and talents helping others.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at St. Cletus Catholic Church, Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11 AM. Memorial Visitation will be at church from 9 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to the Audubon Nature Institute ( www.auduboninstitute.org ).
