Bernice Mechana Berry

Bernice Mechana Berry passed away July 17, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Abner Berry. Mother of John Fournier, Jr. (Jana) and Steven Fournier (Ann). Grandmother of Alicia Falcon (Breck), Laurie Fournier, Jill Durrett (Austin), Aaron Fournier (Kristen), and John Joseph Fournier. Great-grandmother of Chad Fournier (Meagan), Emma Durrett, Sophie Fournier, and Elliott Durrett. Great-great-grandmother of Tate and Titan Fournier. Daughter of the late Claude H. Mechana and Bernice Francis Boudreaux Mechana. Sister of Nell Mechana and the late Joan Vieregge. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Age 83 years, a native of New Orleans and resident of Harvey, LA. She spent her career as an eye technician with Dr. David McNeill. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband Abe and in her spare time she created beautiful needlepoint pieces.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 1:30 PM.
