Bernice Melancon Cherry

Bernice Melancon Cherry passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Nelson Cherry. Mother of Ralph N. Cherry, Keith M. Cherry and Michelle M. Cherry. Grandmother of Mackenzie Marie Cherry. Daughter of the late Ida Dalferes Melancon and Luke J. Melancon. Sister of Betty Bode (Howard), Barbara Melancon, Joan Melancon, Dianne M. Johnson (Leslie) and the late Shirley Melancon. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Napoleonville, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA for the past 50 years. Bernice was a member of Deutsches Haus and St. Joseph Women’s Club. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Joseph Church and Shrine, 610 6th Street, Gretna, LA in memory of Bernice.
