Bernice Melancon Matherne

Bernice Melancon Matherne entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 9 AM at the age of 97. A native of Thibodaux, LA and longtime resident of Marrero, LA. Wife of the late Morris Matherne. Beloved daughter of the late Carmelite Breaux Melancon and Pierre Melancon. Beloved sister of Tudelle Melancon Aupied, Murphy Melancon, Lawrence Melancon and the late Edith Melancon Guillot, Oneil Melancon, Alex Melancon, and Roland Melancon. Beloved sister in law of Marie and Lilliemae Melancon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church for over 60 years. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday September 23, 2011 from 8:30 AM until Funeral Mass time at 11 AM.
