Betty Ann Slocum Breaux

Betty Ann Slocum Breaux entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the age of 83 years of age. Beloved mom of Gilbert Jr. (Rhonda), Randall Sr. (Anne) and Terry (Sherri). Survived by her loving sister, Melanie Tierney (Gus); grandchildren, Randall Jr. (Ashlee), Tiffany Kleinpeter (Lee), Jacob Caillouet and Alex Walker; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Chloe Breaux, Lily and Emie Kleinpeter. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Nellie Caddin, married to George D. Slocum Sr.; her siblings, Merle Hughes, Malvina Rodriguez, Mary Vanderford, George Jr., John, Anthony, Earl and Charles Slocum; her grandchild, Christian Breaux; husband Gilbert Sr. and companion, Floyd Vallette plus her loyal canine companion, Rusty. 

She graduated from Behrman High School, Class of 1959 and found long time work as an Office Manager for Johns-Manville and later with the Westwego and Marrero Housing Authorities. She enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, bingo, bunco and her true joy was being with family and friends at outings and other social activities such as Mardi Gras and camping. She never met a stranger. Her family and friends were her life and she will be sadly missed. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 6 PM to 9 PM, resuming on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 8 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home Chapel celebrated by Fr. John Talamo. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park, 1225 Whitney Avenue in Gretna.
