Betty May Becnel entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2025. She was a native of Algiers, LA and lived in Gretna, LA.

Betty is the loving wife Henry J. Becnel Jr. She is the daughter of Roland William Smith and Lula May Besson Smith. Loving mother to Maurice Becnel (Linda) and Anne Treadway (Mike), Kevin Becnel (Karen), Henry J. Becnel jr. (Susan Callahan) and Roland Becnel (Rhonda). 

Devoted grandmother to Kevin Jr., Brandon, Stephan, Luke, Christian, Danielle, Sarah, Alaina and Kyle. Great grandmother to Asher, Savannah and Felicity. 

Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at St Cletus Church, 3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Mass will start at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park, 1255 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA.
