Betty Barbier Braniff
July 25, 1929 – July 31, 2014
On July 31, 2014 heaven gained an angel. Betty Barbier Braniff passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis and shortly after celebrating her 85th birthday with her loved ones. She joins her late and beloved husband, Richard T. Braniff Sr., in heaven, who waited patiently for her in heaven for 10 years. Betty was a humble and sweet soul who spent her life taking care of others, never complained, and always put others before herself.
Daughter of the late Achille C. Barbier and the late Lillie Blanchard Barbier. Sister of Joyce Marzloff. She will be greatly missed by her 6 children and their spouses Richard T. Braniff Jr. (Susie), James E. Braniff, Carol B. Dantin (Lenny), Donna B. Ingrassia (Tommy), Teri B. Keller (Eric) and Christy B. Rosenbohm (Peter). Beloved grandmother of Shane (Sandy), Ashley (Ross), Chris (Candice), Jess, Ryan, Eric, Anna, Matthew, Isabella and Ciara. Beloved great grandmother of Trevis, Ciana, Carson, Braniff, Jacelyn, Nathan and Jazmyn. She was “mom” to her 6 children, but a mother to many. She was loved and blessed with many she considered her “adopted daughters” and so many kids thought of as “Grandma Betty”. All who knew her felt her warmth and love. Her large and loving family brought her tremendous joy. She will be dearly missed.
A special thank you to Ginger, Debra and Lisa of St. Joseph Hospice for being such wonderful friends and caregivers to Betty and the entire family. Our deepest gratitude to you and all the staff of St. Joseph for your support and guidance. To all of Betty’s “adopted daughters”, thank you for your love and friendship and for helping take care of her.
