Betty Rae Breaux Lassere, lifelong resident of Algiers, LA, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the age of 79. She was the beloved wife of Donald Joseph Lassere for 60 years. Loving mother of Donald Joseph, Jr. (Susan), Cheryl Lassere Twickler (Charlie), Wayne Louis (Sharon) and David John (Mary Beth) and the late Madonna Lassere Gautreau (the late Tim). Attentive grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 16, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis B. and Birdie F. Breaux. Also survived by her siblings, Louis “Buddy” Breaux, Patricia Breaux James and in laws Milton “Mickey” Lassere (Judy), Beverly Lassere Segrue and Lois Breaux. She was a parishioner of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. She was the founding Queen Mother of Les Chapeau Rouge of the Red Hat Society. She was the Past President, Captain of the Guard, and a faithful worker of the Paul E. Boyd, Marine Corp League Auxiliary. She was the Captain of the Guard for the Department of Louisiana Marine Corp League. The family would like to thank David Snyder, MD for the many years of special care and the nurses and staff at East Jefferson Hospital. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 3101 Eton St., New Orleans, LA 70131 on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11 AM. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA from 6PM until 9PM and Wednesday from 8AM until 10:30AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
