Betty Lawson Lilly, born on March 4, 1933, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on March 28, 2025, in Gretna, Louisiana. Betty will be remembered as a devoted member of her family and community, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of many.

For 39 years, Betty dedicated herself to her career as a long-time employee of GMAC, where she demonstrated unwavering commitment and steadfast professionalism. She was not only respected as a hardworking employee but also cherished as a loyal colleague.

Betty was a passionate fan of the Saints and LSU, embodying the spirit of dedication and loyalty that she demonstrated throughout her life. Her love for cooking, especially during the holidays, brought her family together, filling their homes with warmth, laughter, and delicious meals that will be fondly remembered by all who gathered around her table.

Known for her angelic spirit, Betty was kind and giving. She was a supportive presence in the lives of her family and friends, always going above and beyond to offer assistance and solace. She leaves behind her loving daughters, Gwen (Pat) Ryan and Gerry (Chuck) Blumenthal. Her cherished grandsons, Bradley Sullivan, Colby Blumenthal, Tyler (Amanda) Blumenthal, and Shane Ryan, along with her great grandson, Beaux Blumenthal, will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them. Her siblings Robert “Bobby” Lawson (Patsy), Theodore “Teddy” Lawson, Michael “Mike” Lawson, and Dwight “Ike” Lawson (Charlotte). Betty also embraced her step grandsons, Scott (Kira) Ryan and Shaun (Shelly) Ryan, and took pride in her step great grandsons, William, Aidan, Shaun, and Ian Ryan as well as all of her nieces and nephews.
