Betty Ruth Harris Settles, passed away June 17, 2015 at the age of 76.
Beloved wife of the late Norman Eugene Settles. Mother of Debra Settles Bouvier (Kenneth), Norma Settles Alexander (Paul Jr.), Tracy Settles Robin. Grandmother of Kristen Bouvier Griffin (Corey), Dustin Alexander (Jodi), Kimberly Bouvier Matherne (Joel), Clinton Alexander and Joshua Robin. Great Grandmother to Austin, Alise, Kobe, Hunter, Jace, River & Jolie. Best friend of Susan “Sue B” Burns.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Virgil Jack Harris and Stella Mae Lawson Harris East; stepfather Lilburn Cody East and her brothers, Robert Lee Harris and Bobby Joe Harris all of Franklin, Indiana.
Betty was born on November 11,1938 in Jackson County, Indiana and was a long time resident of Avondale, Louisiana and a current resident of Westwego, Louisiana. She was a former employee of Westbank Florist, Wal-Mart #911 and was a member of the Westwego Senior Center.
The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Wynhoven Health Care Center, West Jefferson Medical Center, Serenity Hospice, Louisiana Heart Clinic, Dr. Louis Glade and Dr. Scott Acosta for their care and compassion.
Relatives, friends of the family, members of Westwego Senior Center, employees of Wal-Mart, Boomtown Casino - New Orleans, Pellerin Milnor, Jefferson Parish Recreation Department and New Orleans Emergency Medical Services are invited to attend the funeral service at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La. on Monday June 22, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor - Gates of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego, Louisiana. Visitation will be Monday morning June 22, 2015 from 9 AM until funeral time.
